Save Your Skin!

Love Your Skin!

Ouch! You forgot the sunscreen yesterday. For immediate relief from the searing heat and tenderness of your skin, try taking 2 aspirin (325 mg, unless you cannot safely take aspirin) and be amazed at the relief you feel in about 30 minutes. Motrin (or any ibuprofen brand) will not yield the same results, though for most other conditions I am a huge fan of ibuprofen. After the aspirin, apply a topical antioxidant. Try Pro-Heal from I S Clinical or Intensive Recovery Treatment from Revalé Skin Care. You will experience almost immediate relief, and your DNA may be spared the mutative effects from UV rays, saving you from ugly issues later on.

What do you do if you find yourself outside for an unprepared time and you have no sunscreen? Keep moving around – a little sun on a lot of area is better than a lot of sun on a smaller area. And please, try to find a way to always have a hat. You can visit Coolibar.com for hats that fold up and travel well, needing only to appear when you need them.

When your burn starts to peel…resist that strong urge to help it along. The skin that hasn’t lifted yet is more susceptible to recurring damage. Let it finish its natural process of repair the best way it knows how.

Finally, to avoid the above or to protect that newly presented skin after the peel, visit your nearest sports store for UV protective clothing. Just Google UV Protective clothing. Go for it!

From Dr. Bonnie:

When first meeting, my patients tell me they want to look younger, and we talk about their concerns.  For most its a sense of not looking as “fresh” as they used to.  As we continue to talk, I find many are under incredible stress,  and it’s aging them beyond their real years.  They’re aware of the pressure, and maybe even of the toll it’s taking. Unfortunately, its not easy to figure out how to get off this energy draining treadmill that’s  sabotaging their chance to look great.

I ‘ve discovered three common problems that almost all of these patients share, and even went so far as to prepare three separate videos, which have become  my “prescriptions”.  Each deals with a different problem and shows step-by-step how to eliminate them from your life.

I would love to share them with you, and there is no charge. The first is titled “The Dirty Little Secret of Multi-Tasking” and as the title may hint, Multi-Tasking is not helping us save time nor get things done faster.

You will also begin receiving My Beauty Tip of The Week every Friday. In it I discuss things just like in the article above and can answer your questions, should you want to ask. It’s also free and you can unsubscribe at any time.

I look forward to hearing from you.
